SES ASTRA supplies ASTRA2Connect for energy monitoring in Italy
Government-owned Gestore dei Servizi Energetici to install 5,000 terminals in order to monitor renewable energy sources
Luxembourg, 10 February 2010 – SES ASTRA, an SES company (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), announced today that it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Italian corporation Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) for the deployment of 5,000 ASTRA2Connect terminals in Italy. GSE will use a dedicated ASTRA2Connect-based satellite service for telemetry and video surveillance applications in order to optimize the predictions of its renewable energy sources. GSE is a government-owned company promoting and supporting renewable energy sources and is controlled by the Italian Ministry of Economics and Finance.

Availability of low-cost interactive satellite broadband service for everyone / Expansion of service to West African countries
Nairobi, Kenya, 22 January 2010. – ASTRA Broadband Services (ABBS), a fully owned subsidiary of SES ASTRA, and Intersat Africa, a leading provider of satellite-based internet services and ABBS’ distribution partner for the ASTRA2Connect services in Africa and the Middle East, announced today the official launch of Get2Net Satellite Broadband to customers in East and Central Africa, among those Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. Powered by the ASTRA2Connect technology, the service will be available for end users as of 1 February 2010. At the same time, both companies have agreed to expand their cooperation and to also offer the service in West African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Guinea.

Agreement signed with Intersat Africa for broadband service on new ASTRA 3B satellite
Luxembourg, 10 December 2009. – SES ASTRA, an SES company (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), announced today that it is further expanding its successful satellite-based broadband service ASTRA2Connect, and will offer the service in the Middle East as of next year.
